AI regulatory activity in the US is accelerating – over 200 laws have been introduced in the country in 2024 alone. The last six months have also seen  a Presidential Executive Order, and two Joint Statements by federal agencies, increasing focus on Standards like the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, and several pieces of guidance and memos released by regulatory agencies, representing a growing landscape of greater vigilance and compliance. While both the Senate and the House of Representatives are considering AI-related laws, it is uncertain whether and when the U.S. will have a binding and comprehensive regulation on AI. In its absence, a patchwork of state-level laws has been proposed and – in some cases – enacted, in Connecticut, Texas, New York and Colorado. This leaves organizations with multiple regulatory fronts and potentially different compliance requirements.

Join us for Holistic AI’s monthly policy hour series, where Holistic AI’s Nikitha Anand and Ella Shoup will discuss, map and provide a comprehensive overview of the U.S. AI policy landscape. This webinar will cover:

  • Significant developments in the U.S. federal policy landscape, including the NIST AI RMF, the AI Executive Order, the  American Privacy Rights Act (APRA) and the AI Disclosure Act.
  • Already enacted state-level AI Laws including recent developments in Connecticut, Texas, and Illinois.
  • State-level executive orders, including in California, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
  • The interplay of horizontal and vertical legislation at both federal and state levels.
